North Center real estate
North Center is a neighborhood on Chicago’s north side, just west of Lake View. The neighborhood is bordered by Montrose Avenue on the north and Diversey Parkway south, Ravenswood Avenue, and the north branch of the Chicago River.
Originally settled by Germans, North Center is still rooted in European culture as evidenced by its vibrant neighborhood and collection of nostalgic shops, restaurants and diners, live music and theater, and service businesses. The charming homes on tree-lined streets illustrate this influence. North Center real estate options range from stone walk-ups to modern loft condos to traditional Victorians. North Center also has easy street parking, unlike most of the city neighborhoods.
North Center’s Town Square is a whirl of activity, from bowling alleys and parks (one includes an indoor ice arena) to the public library and movie theater complex. Free family and community events occur throughout the year, including the Farmer’s Market on Saturdays from June to October.
West Lakeview and Roscoe Village are both sub-neighborhoods of North Center.
