Live in the Loop and Shop at the Christkindlmarket

Enjoy German treats when you live in the LoopIf you live in the Loop and are looking for some wonderful local shopping, be sure to check out the 18th Annual Christkindlmarket Chicago.  It’s a delightful German-American holiday market.  It will be open at Daley Plaza, 50 West Washington Street, starting on Tuesday, November 26th.  The market will be open until December 24th.  Its hours are Sunday through Thursday, 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Friday and Saturday 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.  For a fun morning or early afternoon on Thanksgiving Day, people who live in the Loop should go over to the Christkindlmarket from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.  Click here for special hours.

The market will host wonderful vendors, selling beautiful handmade and unique items.  There will also be plenty of delicious food and drinks to sustain guests.  Admission to the market is free, so get a big group of friends and family who live in the Loop to come along for a fun trip.  The market will also host several holiday events.  Chicago’s 100th Annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony will be at 5 p.m. on the opening day of the market, November 26th.  Come back on Thanksgiving for the McDonald’s Thanksgiving Parade.  The parade will begin at 8 a.m. and finish by 11 a.m., so there will be plenty of time left to cook the turkey.  Click here to learn more about the delightful events at the Christkindlmarket.
