Lincoln Park real estate
From North Avenue (1600 North) up to Diversey Parkway and between the north branch of the Chicago River and Lake Michigan lies the north side neighborhood of Lincoln Park. Named for the 1200-acre park that encompasses its entire lake-facing eastern boundary, Lincoln Park is a trendy and wealthy neighborhood that blends vintage architecture with tasteful new housing structures.
There is a block in Lincoln Park that is known as the most expensive in Chicago and among the richest in the country. But despite that, Lincoln Park homes and home prices in the tree-lined neighborhood are varied, from Victorian three-flats and vintage mansions to contemporary brownstones and high-rise apartments. Lincoln Park mansions can run into eight figures. Lincoln Park condos and townhomes will range from the millions to under 200K for a handful of smaller units.
The park itself is a mecca of activity, with its rowing lagoons, sports fields, open spaces, and of course the lakefront. Also in the park is the world-renowned Lincoln Park Zoo and conservatory, the Chicago History Museum, the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum and an outdoor amphitheater. Lincoln Park is also home to DePaul University which adds a vibrant youthfulness to the area of young professionals and long-time city dwellers.
