Hometown Fun For The Family

Chicago Family FunLooking for some family fun this weekend?  Join in the hustle and bustle at Maxwell Street Market.  Open every year-round Sunday from 7am to 3pm on the South Loop, you’ll enjoy bargaining and haggling old Chicago style!  Admission is free and there is much to see, so put on your tennis shoes, bring the stroller and shop while you have your morning stroll.

Another adventure awaits you at the Lincoln Park Zoo.  It is open daily from 10am-4:30pm and has free admission, although there is a parking fee.   A full-fledged zoo, tucked amid the skyscrapers delights and surprises in this surreal setting.  Enjoy a leisurely walk through the habitats of endangered and unusual animals, even if it is too cold for the animals to be seen.  You can even take a ride on the train or carousel for a few dollars.  Dress warm!

In the mood to explore during your lunch hour?  Take a warm weekday walk through Chicago via the Pedway Tour.  Get more information by clicking on the tour tab at http://chicagoelevated.com.  For just $5, you’ll get an insiders look at the city center, without having to go out in the cold.  In fact, you can even email Margaret to arrange a walk tailored for kids or groups!
