Adopt-A-Sidewalk Near Your Chicago Home

Chicago homes for saleThe weather has been quite blustery of late and whether you live in Gold Coast or have a home in Bucktown, we have some exciting news for you to enjoy as a resident of Chicago! Mayor Rahm Emanuel announced last week the official launch of “Adopt-A-Sidewalk.” This program displays sidewalks and allows residents to claim areas and puts city resources and residents serving together, uniting to keep sidewalks clear in every neighborhood. Residents are asked to report any incorrect maps or information in this roll-out phase.
At ChicagoShovels.org, residents can claim their sidewalk, follow a “Real-time Snow Plow Tracker,” and even become a member of the volunteer “Snow Corps” to aid seniors and disabled residents.
